BJ Rock (BJR) is a geotechnical engineering & consulting firm based in Tampa, Florida.

Founded in 2010 by Brian Jory, P.E. and joined by Jack Peak, P.E. in 2011, the senior geotechnical engineering principles of BJR have over 40 years of engineering experience on various projects throughout the great State of Florida.

BJR has experience in the engineering areas of geotechnical, construction materials, deep foundations, forensic/sinkhole investigations, asphalt paving and project management.

The Team

  • Brian W. Jory, P.E.

    Brian is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the areas of geotechnical engineering, design and construction, as well as sinkhole investigations, materials testing, asphalt pavements and engineering project management.

  • Jack C. Peak, P.E.

    Jack is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the areas of geotechnical engineering, design and construction, as well as sinkhole investigations, materials testing, and engineering project management.

    USF Partners

    BJR continuously works with the USF Civil Engineering Department utilizing and enhancing the technology of our Mini Cone Penetrometer (MCPT) soil testing equipment. Brian Jory and Jack Peak are both proud USF Alumni and thus BJR supports the Civil Engineering Department. BJR provides MCPT soil testing demonstrations every semester for the USF Soils Engineering Lab Classes at USF's Tampa Campus. BJR also assists with lectures for Dr. Gray Mullins, PhD, P.E. Engineering Ethics classes and Dr. Rajan Sen, PhD, P.E. Foundation Design classes.
